Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas

Dodge City Public Library's children's department was a November 2009 recipient of a grant from the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas. The library received a grant in the amount of $645 from the Community Foundation's Dodge City Fund and the Gail & Ora Mae Schraeder Fund to help provide for a listening center for children. With this grant a six position listening center with headphones will be purchased along with CDs and copies of books. The children will then be able to listen to stories as they read along in the books. This project should help improve listening skills, promote the love of reading and encourage children to check out books. The library would like to thank the Community Foundation for their support for this project and the library.
