Join Angela Bates for a discussion and photo display exploring the historical experience of African-American families during Westward expansion and Reconstruction period (1860s) as they migrated to establish a new town and evolving family life in Nicodemus Kansas.  Now a national historical site, Nicodemus is the last remaining Western town established during Reconstruction.
